GeneralHeroes Season 2 with Spoilers
I couldn’t help but feel a bit let down by tonight’s episode. It spent so much time trying so hard to get new viewers introduced to all the characters that it seemed a bit lost.
It wasn’t bad, it was just… a bit scatterbrained.
D&D MiniaturesToolkit updates?
Is anyone working on the toolkits for night below?
D&D MiniaturesCommunity Draft Map Voting: VOTE NOW!
Well, the map submission period has closed, my thanks to all of those who have submitted maps for consideration!
Now, it is time for you, (YES YOU!), to vote for which maps will be used at Gen Con at the Community Draft Event. Voting is open to ANYONE who can read this post. In fact, if your not going to Gen Con, then this IS your opportunity to participate. The goal of the map contest is to have the community at large (NOT just those who can go to the event) have an opportunity to shape what happens at the draft!
When voting, please provide your top 3 choices. Include in your e-mail your primary message board, your username at that message board, and the Map letter/name for top 3 choices. Please indicate which is your #1, and #2, and #3!
SUBMIT YOUR VOTES TO: Community.Draft@comcast.net
Each map will receive 3 points for each first place vote, 2 for each second place vote, and 1 point for each third place vote.
The top 2 point earners will be selected for use at the draft!
Here are the maps (listed alphabetically by Author):
A) Poison! By Electric Zombie
Black lines indicate where walls are. Red dotted line indicates blocking line of site. White dotted lines are starting and victory areas. The skulls are poison squares, DC 16. Triangles are difficult terrain, of course.

B) Abyssal Blast By: HfHurricanes/Vrecknidj/NeonKnights
Light gravity: All speed -2 (minimum 2) All creatures gain “Jump (flight 4, replaces movement) special ability.

C) Islands of Chaos By: HfHurricanes/Lalato
NOTE: I need some better clarification on how the map works. Sam, I think your intent was that any of the yellow spaces would be an exit. So, just a few steps and your gone?
So steep slopes(jagged stripes) define the islands of rock that are bouncing around, the areas of risky terain (skull symbols) are smaller rocks that are moving a little faster and could be used to climb back on the bigger rocks (they will all be difficult terrain as is standard). The common victory area (magic circle/fractal design) will be a magic circle and is drawing in the winds of chaos/smoke(blue fractal designs).
The teleportals are in three flavors magenta, yellow and green (symbols incorporate a galaxy). Basically you can teleport between teleportals of the same type. So there are four of yellow and magenta each associated with a player start area and 6 green, three on the common victory area, one on each of the non start area islands. I choose three so no one could take two activations to trap all the teleportals to the victory area. Now some of the teleportals take you to smoke areas. With the smoke, you should be able to avoid 1st turn fireballs/shadow jumps/etc if you do not set up on the ends close to your opponent.

D) Mechanus By: Jayne Cobb
Cogs: treated as difficult terrain. Additionally, a creature that ends its move on a Cog must immediately make a save (DC 15) or be flung off into the nearest legal non-cog space.

E) Blessed Fields of Elysium By: Lingster
Whenever a character uses a special ability, casts a spell, or makes an attack, a roll of 11 or better or else the action is wasted and you can do nothing more this turn except move. This represents the "peaceful" nature of the plane.
Healing spells have their output doubled.
The blue water areas cost 2 extra movement to move into, unless you have flight, or the aquatic sub-type. IE, to move forward 1 square it's 3 movement points. to go diagonally, it's 3 as well, then 4, then 3, etc.

F) The Negative Plane By: Lingster
The Negative Plane: LingSter 2007. Living characters take 5 magic damage per round at the end of thier turn. Healing spells/abilities do not function. Anything that does Negative damage is doubled. LOS is limited to Range 6, blindsight negates.

G) River of Lava By: NeonKnight
River of Lava This is treated as clear terrain, but deals 5 fire damage for each square of movement spent within (Standard rules like forest, difficult terrain etc., do not apply 4 times damage for large creatures). In addition to the fire damage for movement, a creature that activates within the lava river takes 5 fire damage.

H) Pandemonium By: NeonKnight
WRAPPED: The map wraps around allowing a figure to move off one short edge and come back on the other (Think of the map as playing on the inside of a large cylinder) The marked area of the map with the 'wrapped' symbol is mirrored on both end of the map, a figure can be placed on either end, but standrad placing rules are still followed (a figure cannot occupy a space held by another figure). Additionally, line of sight can be traced across the wrapped edge. Because of the 'issues' with the map wrapping around on itself, and allowing a figure to theoretically see across to a figure opposite of itself, assume that a haze of gloom runs down the centre of the tunnel blocking all forms of sight.
Howling Winds: The howling winds of Pandemonium greatly inhibit ranged combat and flight. All ranged attacks are made at a -2 penalty to attacks. As well, flying creatures suffer a -2 penalty to movement when flying (note that the rules for flight state a creature may fly. A creature with flight can choose to walk) with a minimum of speed 2.

I) Dark Alleyways By: Robbdaman

J) The Blackfoot Inn By: Robbdaman

D&D MiniaturesAnyone else worried (about no Rules "Guy")? + Thieve's Quarter cordoning
Have they found someone to replace Guy as rules pope?
I am thinking I will want a lot of clarifications on Night Below before championships. Otherwise championships is going to be a lot of time arguing about rules instead of actually playing the game.
Even after the 2 page manifesto, Thieve's Quarter still needs some further work too.
GeneralTime sucker...
Here is a game to get your brains working...
Enjoy!
