#1. July Inquest Previews (w/ scans and stats) by deutscheben

It looks like the July Inquest previews 6 new minis we haven't seen yet, with stats!

Wild Mage, Kalashtar Bodyguard, Gnoll Claw Fighter, Halfling Tombseeker, Drow Enforcer, and Lifeleech Otyugh, and more stats for the Frost Giant, White Dragon, Raistlin, Wulfgar, and the Alhoon.

Slightly blurry scans are here http://ddmspoilers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=655.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't call that "with stats" until we get a better scan. LOL

Uhhhh... I wonder if linking to a site that was built to contain spoilers that are not allowed here is ok, even when the spoilers shown would be ok to post here?

My keen eyes can make out a few things but yeah higher res scan would be nice.

From what I remember.

Wulfgar is now Frenzied Berserker w/Shotgun.
His stats are so close to the berserker, and with a range 12 attack at +14 never a bad thing to be able to move 8 then shoot at something 12 spaces away. the 110 HP make him a lot more durable as well now withouth the 5 damage per activation/

Raistlin got unlimites MM and perfect targeting, allowing him to target any unit he can see.( this piece is going to see a lot of play I think if the damage increase from his casting ability lets him throw out 10 damage magic missles to whatever piece he can see)

The tombstalker has Loot which lets it forgo an attack while in a vistory area to score 5 vps, not to mention abilites that allow him to ignore hindering terrain, and he does not provoke ANY attacks of oppurtunity when moving.

Jarl got speed 8!!! we got a big giant who can keep up with some of these other pieces now.

could dredge up more stuff but just tossing this out from memory to keep people from straining the eyes readinf the scan :)

Ohhh past tidbit Large White is officially 32 points from that article.

Man, that gnoll claw fighter looks awesome!!!

I really like the Alhoon. He's not overloaded with spells, but he's got enough options to have something useful to do every round. And, if the first tentacle hit paralyzes the target, the second one auto-crits and rends, right? So that's up to 45 magic damage on a full attack. Not bad.

There will be a DC on both mind blast and paralysis, Inquest usually has partial stats.

the halfling tombseeker has very interesting potential. Not sure exactly how to use it yet, but potentially quite cool.

Riposte! Haha that's great! I don't think you'll ever get to use it... Octo-tombseekers forever!

Why not?

'Cause you'll only roll a "1" and the Riposte will be wasted.

Fear the die, Sienar.

Fear the die.

....

That halfling looks pretty nice with loot. New strategies for getting to 200pts is tres kuhl.

i had a feeling wulfgar would have a low commander rating. he was way to incredible if you gave him commander of 4, so i thought 2 was what to expect, but 1 and 2 dont make much difference, have to carry another commander either way. will the inspiring marshal come back? i have seen some armies attempt to use an IM, Wemic Barb., and multi dancers, Wulfgar could replace the Wemic and make this army much more effective. all the pieces look fun, and im very happy to see the R&D crew making a much stronger effort of late to give more pieces a chance to be competative

Mmm being that hes willing to follow unique commanders, why wouldnt you use him with Storm to make him fearless and probably flying. It just screams break me.

Riposte triggers before the opponent rolls the attack, so you'll likely get to use it at least once, unless the enemy used a breath weapon or spell (for which they must contend with spell resistance) to force a morale check first. The drow is solid at 16 points. Riposte is a strong ability... the Air Genasi Swashbuckler is just off of being a competitive piece. However, as long as players have the option of a wardrummer for a few extra points, I doubt this guy will see much competitive play.

As for tomb-seekers... there is huge potential, there. This piece can earn it's cost by merely surviving to the end of round 2, which isn't that hard given the hp total and hide. The biggest issue here is not that it gives you victory points... it is that it gives you victory points at a faster rate than an opponent can accumulate them if they don't have a looter. There is potential for abuse, there.

Riposte is different than retributive strike (the air genasi) but I wish the Air Genasi had riposte instead.
